Production:
Recognising the
importance of the European use of Viognier
in Shiraz, we have since the 2000 vintage
followed this traditional step. We find our
Viognier lifts the mid palate fruit and
opens up the whole structure, adding yet
another enjoyable complexity to Shiraz
Prestige.
Tasting Notes
Colour:
This iconic Barossa Shiraz
exhibits a deep red colour indicative of its
richness.
Aroma:
The aroma reinforces the
colour with strong spicy fruit and subtle smokey
oak flavours.
Palate: The intense
generosity of the palate is dominated by
blackberry fruit and black pepper spice. The
long aging in oak imparts soft, silky tannins
and a firm structured finish.
Released with 24 months wood and bottle age,
this wine will continue to improve over the next
5 to 10 years under good cellaring conditions.
It will certainly reward those who are patient,
but this classic style will also be enjoyed by
those who cannot resist the immediate
temptation.
To fully appreciate this wine, we recommend
that it be decanted 3 to 4 hours before serving.
