2004 Happs CHARDONNAY

Technical details

Variety: 100% Chardonnay Three Hills region
Wine Analysis: 13.5% Alc., pH 3.22 Total Acid = 4.9g/l

Production: In this wine we have used barrel fermentation in new oak, yeast lees stirring, partial malolactic fermentation, some solids in the ferment and both reductive and oxidative handling techniques.

Tasting Notes

Colour: Straw

Nose: A lifted aroma of white peach, melon and fig with some attractive integrated oak.

Palate: A complex wine with all the flavour elements you expect with good chardonnay- fruit, yeast & oak. Itis medium bodied with good flavour intensity displaying white peach, lemon and grapefruit flavourswith a slight biscuity note. The wine combines crisp acidity with a palate that is creamy and long withsubtle oak and a long soft finish.

2006 Happs SEMILLON SAUVIGNON BLANC

Variety: Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc Three Hills Karridale Region

Wine Analysis: 13.0% Alc., pH 3.0 Total Acid = 7.5g/l

 

Tasting Notes

Colour: Pale straw

Nose: Spicy herbaceous gooseberry, passionfruit elements from the Sauvignon overlying straw fig and tobacco from the Semillon.

Palate: This 2006 Semillon Sauvignon Blanc displays the punchy grassy characters expected of the style and region with riper gooseberry, lime juice, fig and tropical flavours. The palate is soft and delicate with a zippy acid structure and a long crisp finish.
